Make a clear impression
- Press the thumb gently on a stamp pad. Do not use too much ink or the ridges will merge.
- Press it once inside a box on plain white paper. Roll slightly, do not slide.
- Let the ink dry before you move the paper.
Some application forms ask you to upload a left thumb impression along with your photo and signature. This guide shows how to make a clean scan and resize it to the KB range and pixel size your form states, using the free Photo & Signature Resizer in your browser.

The size changes from form to form. This page does not give a standard KB range. Read the instruction on your own upload screen, then enter that minimum and maximum in the tool.
When you enter both width and height, the tool fits the whole image inside that frame and fills the empty space with white. It does not stretch the picture. In our test, a 1600 x 1200 pixel test image of 692.5 KB, set to 20 to 50 KB and 300 x 400 pixels, came out as a 300 x 400 pixel JPEG of 24.19 KB, with white bars above and below because the frame was taller than the picture. Crop your image to the same shape as the frame first if you do not want bars.
There is no single size. Each recruitment or form sets its own, so use the range on your upload screen.
Some forms ask for a scanned image, and a few say photographs of signatures from a phone are not accepted (Rajasthan recruitment upload steps say this for signatures). Read your form and follow it.
No. The resizer works in your browser, so the image stays on your device.
