NEET UG: photo and signature guide

The NEET (UG) 2026 information bulletin lists exact KB ranges for the photo, signature, finger and thumb impressions, and certificates. Prepare them before filling the form at neet.nta.nic.in.

Official size and format

PhotographJPG/JPEG, 10-200 KB. Colour or black and white, 80 percent of the image should be the face (ears visible, no mask) against a white background.

SignatureJPG/JPEG, 10-100 KB, clearly legible.

Fingers and thumb impressionsJPG/JPEG, 10-200 KB, left and right hands, clearly legible.

Certificates (category, class 10, PwBD, address proof)PDF, 50-300 KB each, as applicable.

How to prepare the files with PDF Saathi Hub

Take a fresh passport style photo with a white background, full face and ears visible.
Sign and put the finger and thumb impressions on white paper and scan them straight.
In Photo / Sign KB, set the KB range for each image as listed above and download the JPEGs.
For certificates above 300 KB, use PDF Compress and re-check readability of seals and text.

The bulletin notes no correction facility for these uploads, so check clarity before submitting. Keep 6-8 identical passport photos and 4-6 postcard size (4 x 6 inch) photos for the exam day and counselling.

Identity verification in the 2026 form runs through Aadhaar or DigiLocker where possible; candidates verifying by other methods also upload an identity proof image of 10-200 KB. Check chapter on documents in the bulletin for your case.
