Which forms ask for this size
| Form / exam | Rule | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| State and university forms | often 10–20 KB or 20 KB maximum | All exam guides |
| SSC signature | 10–20 KB | SSC CGL guide |
| IBPS / SBI signature | 10–20 KB | IBPS PO guide |
Rules change with every notice. Always check the current official notification and the upload screen of your form.
Tips for a file that gets accepted
- A 20 KB photo should be small in pixels too: around 200×230 to 350×450. A 3000-pixel photo squeezed to 20 KB looks blocky.
- Crop close to your face first, so the 20 KB goes to your face, not the wall behind you.
- Some portals count 1 KB as 1000 bytes. The tool keeps the file at or below 20,000 bytes so it passes both ways.
Frequently asked questions
How do I reduce my photo size to 20 KB?
Select the photo above, keep the 10–20 KB preset and press "Resize and check KB". Download the JPG; it will be 20 KB or less.
Will my photo lose quality at 20 KB?
A little, but at 200×230 to 350×450 pixels a 20 KB JPEG is clear enough for forms. The tool uses the highest quality that fits.
Is my photo uploaded to your server?
No. The resizing runs inside your browser. The photo never leaves your phone or computer.
My form says minimum 10 KB. Is that handled?
Yes. The preset is 10–20 KB. If the result would be under 10 KB, the tool increases the pixels until it reaches the minimum.
