CUET UG 2026 Photo & Signature Guide
The CUET UG 2026 bulletin requires a live photograph and a saved passport photo. The saved signature is JPG/JPEG 10-50 KB. This guide covers CUET UG, not CUET PG.
This guide explains the CUET UG 2026 photo and signature requirements for the NTA application form: the saved passport photo, the live photograph step, the 10-50 KB signature JPG, and how to prepare and check each file before submitting.
Checked against the linked official documents on 4 October 2026. This is file-preparation guidance for the named cycle, not a claim that applications are open. A later bulletin, notice, corrigendum or your live upload screen can change the requirements. No tool guarantees acceptance.
Live photograph: do this in the official application
Use the device camera/webcam. If the device does not support a webcam, the bulletin provides a QR-code route using a mobile device or tablet. Ensure proper lighting, a light-coloured background and 80% face visibility including ears, without a mask.
Preparing a small saved JPEG does not complete live capture. Do not upload someone else's image, fabricate your face, or use a photo editor to bypass identity checks.
Prepare a saved photo or signature without changing identity
- Read your own exam cycle and upload field first. Saved images and live photo capture are separate steps.
- Use Photo Editor to crop extra space or rotate a scan. Do not remove identity details, apply beauty filters or fabricate a background for an official image.
- Use Photo / Sign KB with the exact minimum and maximum KB from your form. Existing presets can belong to another cycle.
- Open the downloaded JPEG and verify framing, legibility, format and file size. Re-check the application preview before submitting.
Common upload checks
- Open the downloaded file. Check it is not blurred, cut off, rotated incorrectly or the wrong format.
- Renaming PNG to.jpg does not convert it. Export a real JPG before setting its KB range.
- Do not translate a face-coverage percentage into an invented pixel dimension or DPI.
- Use the application's actual preview and limits. Save the original in case recompression loses detail.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Guessing sizes from another exam. KB and pixel limits differ between exams, and even between cycles of the same exam. Read your own notice or upload screen first.
- Renaming a file to change its format. Renaming photo.png to photo.jpg does not convert it. Export an actual JPEG.
- Compressing a blurred original again and again. Improve the original scan or photo, then compress once. A file inside the KB range can still be unreadable and rejected.
- Skipping the preview check. Open the downloaded file at full size, and check the portal's own preview before final submission.
