JEE Main Photo & Signature Resize

JEE Main 2026 asks for a passport photo JPG of 10-200 KB and a signature JPG of 10-100 KB through the NTA application form, plus PDF certificates for some candidates. This page gives the exact sizes and the correct resize steps.

These are the JEE Main 2026 saved-file rules. Confirm against your own bulletin - and do not copy CUET's ranges: CUET UG 2026 caps the signature at 50 KB, JEE allows 10-100 KB.

The exact JEE Main 2026 specifications

Resize the files correctly

  1. Use a proper recent passport photo and a clear signature on white paper as originals.
  2. Open Photo / Sign KB, select one image, and set the exact range: 10-200 KB for the photo, 10-100 KB for the signature.
  3. Export real JPGs - export a genuine JPEG first, then set its KB range; renaming a PNG does not work.
  4. Check actual KB, clarity and completeness in a separate viewer before uploading.
  5. For PDF certificates, use JPG to PDF for image scans and PDF Compress if a certificate crosses 300 KB - then verify readability.

Frequently asked questions

What is the JEE Main 2026 photo size?

The saved passport image is JPG/JPEG, 10-200 KB, recent and in colour.

What is the signature size?

JPG/JPEG, 10-100 KB, clearly legible. CUET UG 2026 instead allows only 10-50 KB - do not reuse ranges across exams.

Can I compress the signature below 10 KB for a "cleaner" file?

Stay inside the stated range. If the tool withholds the download because the minimum is unmet, rescan the signature cleaner instead of forcing it.

My certificate PDF is 600 KB. What do I do?

Compress it with PDF Compress toward the 50-300 KB range, then open every page and confirm it stays readable before uploading.
