SSC GD Photo & Signature Resize

The SSC GD Constable form captures your photo live during the application and asks for a scanned signature JPEG of 10-20 KB. This page walks you through preparing the signature file correctly, avoiding the mistakes that get uploads rejected.

Requirements come from recent SSC GD notice sections. Your cycle's official notice and upload screen are the final authority - always check them first.

What the SSC GD form asks for

Resize the signature correctly

  1. Sign on white paper with a dark pen; scan or photograph it straight and well-lit.
  2. Crop away extra paper with the Photo Editor - keep every stroke, remove the rest.
  3. Open Photo / Sign KB, select the image, set minimum 10 KB and maximum 20 KB.
  4. Export the JPEG and verify actual KB and readability in a separate viewer.
  5. If the tool withholds the download because the minimum is unmet, rescan cleaner - never pad a file to fake the size.

The mistake GD applicants make most

Reusing a file prepared for another exam. A signature made for RRB (30-49 KB) or UPSC (20-100 KB) does not fit the SSC GD 10-20 KB range. Each recruitment sets its own numbers; resize fresh for every form. Full details: SSC GD photo & signature guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is the SSC GD signature size the same as SSC CGL?

Recent notices for both ask for a 10-20 KB JPEG signature, but always read your own cycle's notice - SSC can change requirements.

Is 600×200 pixels mandatory?

Not in the cited sections. It refers to about 6×2 cm; enter pixels only when your actual form specifies them.

Can I sign with a blue pen?

Use a dark, clearly visible pen as your notice directs. A faint or coloured signature can fail manual review even inside the KB range.

My 12 KB signature looks blurred after resize. What now?

Do not upload it. Rescan the original signature sharper, crop tighter, and resize again. A file inside the KB range can still be rejected for clarity.
