RRB NTPC Photo & Signature Resize
RRB NTPC (Graduate CEN 06/2025 and Undergraduate CEN 07/2025) asks for a signature JPG of 30-49 KB with strict pixel and scan-quality conditions. This page gives the exact numbers and the correct way to prepare the file.
Read the photo instructions in your own detailed CEN and application module. Do not transfer an old NTPC photo preset or another exam's procedure without checking.
The exact signature requirements
- Format and size: JPG/JPEG only, 30 KB to 49 KB.
- Minimum dimensions: at least 140 pixels wide × 60 pixels high.
- Scan quality: minimum 100 DPI scan; keep the entire signature clear and centred in the 35 mm × 20 mm scan box.
- Photo: for the photo upload, use a file below 400 KB and check the current portal - the NTPC FAQs phrase this as "up to 400 KB" while a troubleshooting answer says "below 400 KB", so staying clearly below avoids that ambiguity.
Resize the signature correctly
- Sign inside a 35 × 20 mm box drawn on white paper, then scan at 100 DPI or higher. Keep the original scan.
- Open Photo / Sign KB and enter the verified 30-49 KB range yourself - do not rely on an old saved preset.
- Export the JPG and check three things separately: actual file bytes, minimum 140×60 pixels, and that the full signature is visible and readable.
- Remember: a KB-resized file alone does not prove all three requirements are met, and the resizer does not certify scan DPI.
Common NTPC upload failures
- Reusing a 10-20 KB SSC signature - NTPC needs 30-49 KB.
- A signature that fits the KB range but falls below 140×60 pixels.
- Faint, off-centre or cut-off signatures from a rushed scan.
